Longing for a touch of spring with Hoya cuttings...
Alberta has been hit with yet another snowfall. In these March days one longs for a touch of colour and looking forward to Spring and gardens bu t not quite there. Repotted a few house plants - an ivy, African Violets and a pot of small succulents. As well experimented with propagating my Hoya cuttings from the mother plant. To ensure successful propagation, it is important to disinfect your scissors with hydrogen peroxide. Additionally, each cutting should include at least one node, as this is the site where new roots develop. I used a small plant pot with three cuttings and two other plastic food containers. In one container, I placed one cut on its side to see if it would root along the stem. Used a moist mixture of perlite, coco-peat and fresh potting soil. My south facing study has the needed bright but indirect light and encounters between my cats and other visitors.
